There was a drive day pencilled in for this coming Sunday (29th) as this is the standing time of the month for drive days.
However no drive has been organised in time so there won’t be any drive on Sunday.

The April drive day sees the introduction of a new format – the ‘REMD’. That stands for Renault Early Morning Drive. Kick off early, get the drive in and have more of the tail of the day free.
It’s also specially designed to cater to those in more spritely Renaults (and Alpines*) as well as those in more sedate historic models. The drive will proceed in two groups with the faster group going first so as to not be held back by more sensible slower members .
The start point is McDonalds at the corner of Blackburn and Doncaster Roads in Doncaster East. Meet there in time to get your starter coffee and be ready to depart at 8am.
Head off to Marysville via Reefton Spur for coffee and toilet stop.
From the Reefton Hotel we travel towards Marysville then veer off to Lake Mountain for a photo opportunity, and then return back to take the road to Marysville for lunch.
Lunch is at a restaurant / café TBA – we’re waiting on responses from a couple of places at Marysville.
The intended participants will have to register with the RCCV social secretaries (ie : Rob or Kay Belcourt on ) to obtain the instruction sheet prior to the event.
REMEMBER: no registration = no route details as the organisers have to confirm type of Renault model participants will be driving and the lunch numbers prior to the event date.
Non-members are welcome to join us on this drive – same as for any of the club’s drive days. BUT they will have to register for the run first.
Participants are advised to refuel at the BP service station near the McDonald restaurant (THERE ARE NO FUEL STOPS ON THE WAY)
* I have to give them special mention ‘cos Alpine owners are funny that way!
The club is intending to have a display at this year’s Maling Road Autoclassico. It’s in Camberwell on Sunday 22 August.
Here’s the flyer for the event http://www.renault-car-club-vic.org.au/Website/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Maling-Road-Autoclassico-22nd-August-2021-V4-1.pdf
Our May Drive Day, on Sunday 30th, will be out to Malmsbury for coffee at Motobean Coffee Roasters. We’ll then head on to Trentham Falls via Spring Hill before lunch at the Radio Springs hotel in Lyonville.
We’ve been getting a bit of rain lately so the falls should be in good working order. It’s only a short walk (70m?) to the falls which doesn’t sound too arduous.
Drive start point is the BP Outbound at Calder Park. Meet from 9am for a 9:30 departure.
Dogs allowed on leads at the falls.
Check out the links for the cafe, hotel and falls.
Map and driving notes will be added to this post in a few days
