RENAULT ROUND-UP 2017

The Round-Up is on again – 19th February

As usual, the Renault Round-Up car display is open to all classic and modern Renaults. Non-RCCV club members are especially welcome to display their car at the Round-Up.  It’s the best value car show around – free to display your car and free for everyone to come and view. Apart from the $2 Caribbean Gardens charge for vehicle entry to the venue.

The Round-Up is supported this year by Waverley Renault, Alpine Affaire, Auto Paris, Qualitool and Renault Australia.

Location this year is the same as last year – the Caribbean Gardens in Scoresby.  There are two entrances; one off Ferntree Gully Road less than one km from the Eastlink Tollway exit and another off Stud Road.  Below the flyer is a map showing in more detail where the display area is in the Gardens.

The Caribbean Gardens is a great family-friendly setting that’s become very popular for staging car shows.  There’s the market (for the Mums), playground and rides (for the Kids) and, of course, masses of Renaults for the Dads.  Yes, yes that’s a bit of stereotyping; of course the Dads can try the rides. . ..

Cars can arrive from from 8:30am and the show formally starts at 9:30 and runs to around 3pm. Concours award presentation scheduled for 1:30 – 2:00 pm.

It has been an active sporting year with thirteen members representing the Renault Car Club of Victoria in at least one CAMS event.

The very worthy winner of the Les Park Sporting trophy for 2016 is John Elliott who has consistently represented RCCV throughout the year.

A couple more Marshalls for Sandown Historics

Sandown Historics Paddock Marshalling

We have had a good response to our request for marshals for Sandown but still need two more for Saturday afternoon.  That’s November 5th There will be a BBQ at the end of the day for officials.

You will also receive a pass for all days of the event so you can spectate in the morning and assist in the afternoon.

June 2016 Social Day

The June Social Day is on the 19th and is a breakfast at Garazi Cafe in Yarraville followed by a visit to the B-24 Liberator bomber being restored at Werribee.

Garazi Cafe is a cafe in a garage with old cars scattered throughout. Pretty cool. 

The B-24 Liberator is an iconic 2nd World War bomber. The one in Laverton is the only remaining Liberator in the Southern Hemisphere and is one of only eight still existent in the world. It is being restored in an impressive World War II hangar on the old Werribee airfield – just outside Melbourne in Victoria.
