Shitbox Rally raising funds for the Cancer Council of Victoria
One of our members is doing the Shitbox rally in a couple of old Peugeots and is looking for donations. All money raised goes to the Cancer Council of Australia. Help Paul by donating whatever you can spare for this great cause.
Our Story . . .
We are really pleased to announce that we’re taking part in Shitbox Rally 2025 – Autumn! This year, all the teams are driving their shitboxes from Canberra to Townsville.
Shitbox Rally is the largest community lead fundraiser for Cancer Council in Australia and is now in its 15th year. Part of the participation is that all teams have to raise a minimum of $5,000 but most teams raise well above this amount as you can see with the Autumn 2025 rally target set at $2,000,000 plus.
These funds go to Cancer Council and we are extremely proud to be doing our part to support such a worthy charity. The fundraising is the hard part, so any donation you can give is greatly appreciated.

. . . to this year’s All French Car Day
Elena Woods, Marketing Manager Renault Australia, our key sponsor for the 2024 All French Car Day – together with Theault – is bringing a Renault Master Van on October 27 which is sure to create a lot of interest, from both sides of the fence!
Visitors will have a chance to check out the Renault Master Van converted by Theault for horse transport. French manufacturer Theault has been building horse boxes and horse trucks for 100 years.

After all what vehicle could be more appropriate on show at the home of equine living legends and the venue for All French Car Day 2024, Woodlands Historic Park?
EOI – Rendezvous 2025
A pleasing number of people put their hands up at the last general meeting expressing interest in on Rendezvous 2025.
Not everyone is able to get to meetings and we’re now asking people to express their interest in writing by email to
At this stage, it is just a statement of interest to get somewhat firm numbers for investigating accomodation availability.
Please respond by the end of September – that’s just so we know we’ve flushed initial interest out; it won’t exclude anyone from deciding to get on board later on.
What are you bringing?
What car are you bringing to this year’s All French Car Day?
Having survived a recent 6000km journey to Queensland and back – including 1700km of an old Southern Cross Rally tour – my 1976 Renault 16TS will be there!

What are you bringing? See you there!
Shitbox at the French Car Day
This year we will be displaying two Peugeot 406 Hdi’s that will be competing in the Autumn 2025 Shitbox Rally. The Rally is more a test of endurance as about 250 cars worth less than $1500 trek through outback Australia.

Former RCCV President Paul Stewart chose the cars for some very sound reasons.
The old Pug Diesels will be perfectly suited to this endurance event. In a sea of Camrys, old Falcons and Commodores these cars will be a beacon of proving everyone wrong (we hope). Also, can you imagine rocking up to an outback town with 250 petrol driven cars? It gets busy at the pumps so Paul reckons driving to the diesel pump will negate wasting time.
One car is Paul’s current daily driver. Car two is a genuine shitbox. After removing the mice from the engine bay there’s been lots of work done to even make the car run.
The events have raised nearly $50m since inception and is a key fund raiser for the Cancer Council and Cancer Research.
Paul will have “Tribute Frogs” stickers for sale on the day. Write a tribute to someone effected by Cancer, stick it to the car and the tribute can come on the journey with us.
There will also be donation pages (https://autumn2025.shitboxrally.com.au/pepe-le-pew-jo) . Paul needs $5000 of donations per car to even make the start line. Corporate sponsors also welcome.
So come on down, have a chat to Paul and Team Pepe Le Pew Jo.
