Still time to enter Round 1 of the 2026 Rob Roy Hillclimb Interclub Challenge.
It’s on Sunday 1st February – yes, an early start this year. That’s catching many by surprise – don’t be one of them and miss out on entering in time.
Entries close on the 27th January, which is real soon now!
Come to compete, or just to make a day out and to support the club and the members who are competing.
Here’s your chance to be a concours winner and take home a prized RCCV trophy at this year’s Renault Round-Up, Sunday Feb 15 at Pier 35, 263 Lorimer St, Port Melbourne – down by the Yarra River side.

It’s open to both RCCV members and non-club members – just come along with your prized Renault, grab an entry form, fill in your details and let the judges do the rest.
It’s free to enter, open to any Renault model, no matter how new or old – and you never know, you might just snag a trophy and best of all – bragging rights for the next 12 months!
Entrant cars are judged in peer groups by either models (ie Alpine) or years ( ie pre-1970, 2010 – 2020 etc.) – for example your 1974 R12 wagon will be competing in the 1970 – 1990 category so it will be up against other R12, R16, R18, and even Fuego and early R19s.
So it depends a lot on the competition – what cars appear on the day! Then there’s the People’s Choice award where spectators get a chance to vote for the car they like the most. It could be yours!
What are cars judged on? Of course appearance is key, originality can be a major factor, the general condition of the vehicle in all aspects down to the tyres, floor covering and hubcaps. Most categories are marked out of 10. Figures are tallied up and then additional points are awarded for the age of the car at the rate of half a point per year.
For instance a car that is 22 years old receives 11 points (ie half the age of the car in points) or if car is 50 years old it would receive an additional 25 points (ie half the age of the car in points) in order to give the older cars a chance to knock off the newer models.

Julie Scarff, Renault’s National Marketing Manager, has come on board with a concours category sponsorship, official Renault merchandise and ‘subject to staff availability, we would also love to attend on the day and showcase a couple of our new models, Duster and Scenic E-Tech, for your members’.

Thanks Julie, we really appreciate the support and look forward to checking out those new models.

For those who don’t know, Como Park is in South Yarra, Melbourne

A few members made the trek to Canberra for their annual French car day. They were Andrew McCall (Alpine A310), Phil Domrow (Clio 3 Gordini), Grant Domrow (Clio2 182) and myself, Glenn Armstrong (Megane 3 Sport 265).

After meeting on the Hume Highway and proceeded to Glenrowan for a rest break before continuing to the Long Track Pantry in Jugiong for lunch. After lunch it was on to our accommodation for some rest before dinner at the nearby German Club.

On Sunday we headed to a hand car wash and whilst the cars were being washed, we went to a local café for breakfast. We the collected the cars and drove the 900 metres to the display for the day.

There was a total of 26 cars including our four and another Citroen from Melbourne driven by Phil Torode from (PCCV).

Sunday was departure day with Phil heading for system with the rest of us returning to Melbourne. I came via the Monaro and Princes Highways to visit friend in Lakes Entrance.
We had six cars last year and can hopefully have more people come along in 2025.
At least in our eyes!
Here’s a few shots of Paul’s and Brad’s preparation of their vehicle, Pepe le Pew Jo.
