We had a smaller contingent at the final round of the club challenge but some good results. Colin Stark in his A110 won Class C (1601 cc to 2000 cc) with a time of 25.07 sec which was incredible as he had only one run for the day and the the motor shut down with an electrical gremlin before the finish line. From having four competitors at the first round of the Club Challenge, our effort more than doubled for round two with nine entries. We had two class wins with John Hardy taking out Class B with his A110 and Colin Stark winning Class C with his A110. Commencing in the calendar year 2015, the Committee has introduced a sporting award for members representing RCCV in CAMS sanctioned events (eg circuit racing, regularity events, hillclimbs, motorkhanas, sprints, rallies etc.) A progressive points score will be maintained by the Sporting Coordinator to the following formula : Entry in event 1 Point Outright win Plus 10 points 1st Place in Class Plus 3 Points 2nd Place in Class Plus 2…
New club sporting competition for 2015 The club is introducing a annual sporting championship for club members. The competition is for a single ‘RCCV Sporting Champion’ across all sporting disciplines, be they hill climb, sprints, motorkhana or other. The club doesn’t have the capacity to conduct competitive sporting events on it’s own so the championship is based on member’s results in events run by other clubs. Any CAMS affiliated club event in which a member participates in is eligible and members do not need to be competing in a full competition – for example, having a run at one of the Rob Roy Interclub Challenge hillclimb counts. It’s possible that singular success at a one-off event may trump a year’s effort in another competition if that resulted in little success.…
